Wounded by Jasinda Wilder (A Review)

War has taken everything from me. My family. My home. My innocence. In a country blasted by war and wracked by economic hardship, a young orphan girl like me has very few options when it comes to survival. Thus, I do what I must to live, to eat, and I try very hard to not consider the cost to my soul. My heart is empty, and my existence brutal.
The one impossibility in my life is love.
And then I meet HIM.
War is hell. It takes a chunk out of a man's very soul to do the kinds of things war demands of you. You live with fear, you live with guilt, and you live with nightmares. If you haven't been through it, there's no understanding it. War leaves no room for love, no room for tenderness or softness. You gotta be hard, closed off, and ready to fight every moment of every day. Lose focus for a split second, and you're dead.

Now the only thing that can save me is HER.

========================

Where do I start? This book changed me, it really did, I was thrown into a world that I will shamelessly admit, I hardly ever think about, I have no family members in the military, no friends in the military, it is not part of my life on a personal level.
THIS.......BOOK.....CHANGED......ME.

Ok first, Hunter is a beautiful broken man but not unfixable, so sad the way his life fell before him, and even when he found Rania he had to fight and claw and literally KILL to keep her, to love her, to have her.
This book gripped me by the heart and did not let go.
Rania, my goodness, this poor girl is a fighter, and sadly, I know there are REAL girls just like her in these world torn countries, but sadly, they do not have a Hunter, I wish they could all get a Hunter. :(

Whatever you are reading right now, put it down and READ THIS BOOK....read it now.
Yes, there were many sad parts but the love that comes out of it and blossoms is so worth any tear you will shed, he fights for her like an animal and I loved every second of it. EVERY SECOND!

The angst in this book was not the usual angst that is in many of the love stories recently written, there are no stupid misunderstandings and lengthy breakups, they hold old onto each other and NEVER LET GO. I could go on and on but honestly I am just taking up your reading time, time you should be devoting to THIS BOOK!

Some of my favorite quotes:
“I don’t know what to say to her. I’m in battle mode. Shut down. Hard. I’m not Hunter anymore. I’m Lance Corporal Lee, USMC. Semper fi, bitches.“

“I love you, Hunter. Please do not stop. Not ever.”
“I won’t, I promise. Never. I’ll love you forever. I’ll make love to you until there’s no me and no you, only us together like this forever.”

"You are so beautiful. Do you know that?"
"I know that men think - "
"Man. One man. Me. I'm all that matters. No one else can have you. You're mine."

"I will always love you. You saved me, Rania."
"No, you saved me."
"We saved each other, then,"

"What is the word for this kind of underwear? Boxings? Something like that? I cannot think of it."
"Boxings? Oh, god, Rania. That's funny. Boxers. They're called boxers, sweetheart."

Gwynneth Ever After by Linda Poitevin

**ARC received from author via NetGalley for a honest review**

Gwyn Jacobs doesn’t believe in fairy tales. Ever since her ex-husband walked out, leaving her alone with three small children, Gwyn has been mother, father, and bread-winner all rolled into one. Her own scarred heart aside, she refuses to open up her children’s lives to the possibility of another heartbreak, and so she has an unbending policy of no dating and no unattached men in their lives.
Until her very own fairy tale falls into her lap...and the hero won’t take no for an answer.
----------------------------------------

Gwyn is a 35 year old single mother of 3 who's husband ran out on them
Gareth is 41 years old and a Hollywood star with a secret.

I really liked this book, it was an easy read, not too much angst, but enough to keep it interesting.
Any issues they had were quickly sorted out and not "too quickly" as to not feel believable.
I thought all of Gwyn's issues were ones I would have myself if put in her situation so I felt she was a believable charachter.
I loved trying to put myself in her shoes, all I could think of was picturing Brad Pitt cleaning muck out of my tub, it made me giggle more than once. This book made me smile on more than one occasion, it was very sweet. Her kids were cute, fun, funny and did not annoy me, which I have to say happens often to me in books, but Ms. Poitevins writing is so good that she can even write a believable child. Loved it!
I loved that she didn't just instantly fall to his feel because he was a gorgeous movie star, she thought of her kids, she thought of her sanity first.
He was at a point in his life that he wanted something REAL, he loved how real Gwyn was and fell head over heels for her.
This book is absolutely a great rainy day or a sitting on the beach book.

Some Great Quotes:
He glanced up at her arrival, his eyes warmed as they met hers. "I'll be with you in a minute," he said. "I have some unfinished business here."
Gareth frowned at her. "Are you always this stubborn about accepting help?" "No, but--" "Then go away and stop bothering me."
"And what does your mum say about me?" he asked the three traitors in front of the television set. She closed her eyes, sure that even her toes were blushing now, and wishing reverently to be transported far away... "She says your a God," Katie replied. "And she growls." ...very far away... Gareth doubled over in silent, helpless laughter.

Rare and Precious Things (The Blackstone Affair #4)

ACK! I cant believe it! A book 4 is coming!!  *fan girling*

This final installment of The Blackstone Affair, is scheduled for an ebook release at the end of 2013!

Cover reveal:

Book 4 teaser!

I watched Brynne putting on her makeup and I couldn’t tear my eyes away. I hoped she didn’t notice me staring because I didn’t want her feeling self-conscious. I knew she was a little because her body had changed so much. She was more beautiful to me now than ever though. Our little blueberry had grown right along with my girl.

“You’d better start getting ready or we’ll be late. Hannah and her plans wait for no man…” she trailed off, never taking her concentration away from the mirror where she was applying some kind of dark smudge around her eyes. She had on a short black lace getup that made me hard just looking, but she was only halfway dressed. Best to stick with the plan or we’d never make it to my Dad’s birthday dinner on time. I tried to force in some non-arousing thoughts about work.

“I’d much rather look at you though, Mrs. Blackstone,” I told her.

She made a soft sound. “Well my ass is getting bigger by the second, in direct competition with my belly. I hope my ass doesn’t win. At the end of this gig, I just want the baby, not the extra ass.” She looked up into the mirror at me, her expression giving away little of what was on her mind. Still so mysterious, my girl was. I loved that aspect of her though. Made me even more determined to get as close to her as I possibly could so I could touch and taste and absorb every available molecule. My need for Brynne was still as strong as ever. I had no doubts that would ever change either.

“Your arse is perfection and you’ll never hear me complaining ‘bout a bit more of you to grab hold of.” I gave her a slow wink and a lecherous grin. “From back here, you don’t even look pregnant.” I came up behind her and plastered myself against her body, my hands sliding forward to rest on her bump. “I have to do this to really know you’ve got anything here.” I splayed my palms over the firm rounded swell of our baby growing safe inside her.

She leaned back and rested her weight against me. “Oh something’s there all right,” she said, “that you put there.”

I grinned behind her. “I really enjoyed doing that by the way.”

“I seem to remember that you did,” she said dryly.

“Oh you enjoyed it too, Mrs. Blackstone.” I slid my hands around back to her grip her bum. “Mmmmm…you feel perfect to me,” I mumbled.

“Did I ever tell you how much I love when you call me Mrs. Blackstone?”

“You have not, but I’m delighted you love your new name.” I spoke toward her image in the mirror. “I know I love the sound of it. I know I love that my name is now your name. I love a lot of things…that I didn't have before.”

She reached her hand up to hold my cheek, still looking at me in the mirror. “You’re getting a new name too. We have someone coming to us soon who will know you only by one name, and it’s not Ethan.”

“Dad.”

“Yep. You are somebody’s dad now.” She smiled softly, a mixture of happiness and maybe a little sadness at the thought of her own father. “You’ll be the best ever…” she whispered.

Brynne always amazed me in her generosity—her ability to be so lovingly giving even in the face of her grief and loss. Brave. Strong. Magnificent. I kissed her on the back of the neck and rested my chin on her shoulder, both of us staring into the vanity mirror at each other. “I love the sound of it—Dad. I’m a dad and you’re a mum.”

“We are indeed.”

I returned my hands to her belly. “I love our little grapefruit in here.” I turned her around and held her face in my two hands. “And I love you, Mrs. Blackstone.”

“I love you more,” she said.

Review of "A Brutal Tenderness" (A Terrible Love #2) by Marata Eros

**ARC provided by the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for my honest review.**

There are two sides to every story. In this dark and sexy companion novel to the New York Times bestseller A Terrible Love, experience the sizzling passion and pulse-pounding suspense through FBI agent Cas Steele’s eyes as he hunts down a psychopath...and falls for the killer’s prey.

Cas has been charged with an unsavory task: manipulate the hauntingly beautiful Jewell MacLeod—a woman he has every reason to hate—and slowly gain her trust in order to use her as bait to lure in a killer. But as the killer draws closer, Cas realizes that he can’t deny the scorching chemistry that ignites between him and Jewell, even if giving into his physical desire for her means jeopardizing his mission...and opening himself up to the possibility of a real and terrible love...
Expected publication: August 26th 2013 by Simon & Schuster

If you are stumbling upon my review and have NOT READ "A Terrible Love" Book #1 of this series, then STOP READING! This book (A Terrible Love #2) can not be read without reading the first book FIRST! And believe me you will not be disappointed.

I have to start off by saying that I should have reread book 1 before starting this book, at first I was confused by the different names because as you know, everyone had a different life, a different name, it got a little confusing to me until I got myself reacquainted with the characters and THEN the book picked up for me. ABT was absolutely from a mans point of view, great job Ms. Eros! But no less romantic, just "Man Romantic" if that is even a thing. LOL!
I loved how this book filled in the gaps from the first book, when I first read ATL I had MANY questions that I needed answers to in my own head, so much so that I emailed the author seeking the answers, she was nice enough to answer back and tell me to hold my horses! Cas' point of view was coming and all my questions would be answered. Well, she did not disappoint!

Cas is ALL male and I loved every steamy second of him!
Marata Eros is such a fantastic writer I could almost smell that mans sweat, she is descriptive without giving too much detail. She is great!

A Terrible Love and A Brutal Tenderness are both Keepers!
